How to Make Green Bean Baby Food

Green beans might be one of those vegetables that baby doesn’t take to right away because they have a slightly bitter taste. Don’t get discouraged! It can take up to 15 times of offering a new food before your baby will eat it. The great thing about making your own baby food is that if it DOES take 15 times, you will only use 15 cubes rather than 15 pricey jars from the grocery store. It took around 5 times of offering my son green beans before he started to like them. Just be sure that you are consistent by offering them every day, not skipping one single day. Your baby will come around!

  1. Ryan

So my sister is a little over a year old and hates green beans. Do you think this could help her maybe take to them a little better?

    • Absolutely! Just add them to a puree that she likes. Apple or pear puree mixed with green bean puree would make a good combination. Some combinations may sound odd to us, but she might gobble it up with a big ol’ grin 🙂

  2. My friend just had her baby a few months ago and I will send her over here to look at this recipe! I know she wants to make her own baby food so this will be a great resource.

    • Fantastic! As mentioned in previous comments, I have many more recipes on the way. If she has any recipe requests, I will be more than happy to add them 🙂 I encourage my followers to get involved in the creation of this site!

  3. So, I saw green bean puree recipe, and I thought “Huh. It could be interesting to try.” Then I saw the words baby food. I think I’ll take a pass on trying it lol. Anyways, loved reading this! Simple, straight to the point, and offered help through other links. Nice job!
