Steamed Frozen Pea Puree Recipe


Check out all of the vitamins and nutrients in peas!

  1. Steam 2 cups of peas according to the package directions.
  2. Place peas into Vitamix or blender of your choice.
  3. Add 4 ounces of water from steamer saucepot (contains a lot of nutrients) and 2 scoops of formula OR 4 ounces of breast milk. 
  4. Blend until the puree can easily pour out of the blender into the ice cube trays.
  5. Add more water or breast milk if the puree is too thick.

  1. Great ways to make use of a nutritious, and cost-effective vegetable for a baby! I’m curious, if you give stage 1 foods like these to slightly older babies than say 8 months are they not as beneficial for the baby since they need other things and can handle more? Great post!     • Absolutely!!! These recipes are also great for older babies. I know some parents that fed their little ones purees after their first birthday! Some babies will not touch a pea but will gobble up pea puree. All little ones are different 🙂 Stay tuned because Stage 2 recipes are coming soon!

  2. This sounds like a very simple recipe for baby food. When I have babies I’ll probably do the same. Home food is always the most authentic and healthiest to eat. Thanks for sharing!
