Baked Applesauce Recipe

It’s recommended to get certified organic apples because they are among the 2016 EWG’s Dirty Dozen.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Wash, peel, core and cut 3 organic red delicious apples into 2″ chunks.
  3. Place apple chunks into a baking dish and add just enough water to barely cover the apples.
  4. Bake for 15-20 mins or until tender, checking the water level and stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove the apples and place into Vitamix or blender of your choice.
  6. Add 4 ounces of the reserved water from the baking dish (it contains a lot of nutrients) and 2 scoops of formula OR 4 ounces of breast milk.
  7. Blend until the puree can easily pour out of the blender into the ice cube trays.
  8. Add more water or breast milk if the puree is too thick
